The violence erupted as the country was already reeling from the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the ensuing power vacuum.

With the absence of strong leadership, Islamist groups have become emboldened, taking this opportunity to target the Hindu minority—a community that has long faced discrimination and persecution in the predominantly Muslim nation.

           BREAKING:

Videos and eyewitness reports from the affected regions reveal the horrifying reality of the ongoing atrocities. Hindu women are being kidnapped and taken to undisclosed locations, while their homes are ransacked and torched. The attackers show complete disregard for the law and human life, brutally terrorizing innocent civilians without fear of consequence.

The situation has escalated to a critical level, with the Hindu community now living in perpetual fear for their lives and the well-being of their loved ones. The absence of a decisive government response has only emboldened the attackers, allowing them to continue their reign of terror across the nation with impunity.

International human rights organizations have strongly condemned the ongoing violence and urgently called for immediate measures to protect the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. Despite these calls, the response from Bangladeshi authorities has been slow, leaving the situation perilous and unresolved.

On Sunday, August 4, violent clashes in Bangladesh claimed the lives of around 100 people, including a Hindu councillor. Reports indicate that Hindu homes and temples, such as those of ISKCON and the Kali temple, were deliberately targeted, forcing devotees to flee and seek refuge.

Among the victims was Haradhan Roy, a member of the Parshuram Thana Awami League and councillor of Ward 4 in Rangpur city.

In a related development, an indefinite curfew was imposed following fresh clashes that resulted in 101 fatalities. The violence escalated as protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina confronted supporters of her government. In response, authorities cut off internet access and imposed a nationwide curfew. Tensions further intensified when government opponents clashed with activists from the Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League.

As the night of terror continues, the world looks on in shock as Bangladesh plunges further into chaos. It is imperative that the international community unites to end the violence and ensure the safety and security of all citizens, irrespective of their religion or ethnicity.
